I have over 13 years of litigation experience as an Assistant Crown Attorney, prosecuting everything from impaired driving to homicide. I have more than five years of courtroom experience in Family Law cases.

I graduated from Western University in 2004 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2005. In 2006, I started my litigation career in Lindsay, Ontario, eventually transferring to the Peterborough Crown Attorney's Office. Peterborough has become my home.

I opened my own practice in 2019, focusing on Family Law and drafting Wills.  

I am proud of the team at S.K. Pickens Law. We enjoy helping people in Peterborough and the Kawarthas move forward with their goals, whether the goals are related to family law or the drafting of a will.

I have sat on a number of Boards over the years, including the Kawartha Food Source in Lindsay, and Balance for Blind Adults in Toronto. Balance assists blind and visually impaired adults with daily living, mobility and advocacy. S.K. Pickens Law has participated in many community events, including “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” and the New Canadian Centre’s Canada Day festivities.
